Social welfare organization Keeping in line with the objectives of the organization, in recent years ABWU has been working for the prevention of Immoral Traffic of women and children by:

• Giving shelter to the women and children in moral danger who would otherwise have become the prey of traffickers;
• Undertaken in 1986-1990 a UNIFEM-UNDP funded project for:
1) Surveying the main red light areas of Kolkata, and
2) Rehabilitating 25 victims of Immoral Traffic.
• Participating from 1998 in a group of NGOs of West Bengal, India and Bangladesh supported by UNICEF for the prevention of traffic and sexual exploitation of children in both the countries. It is a member of ATSEC (Action Against Trafficking and Sexual Exploitation of Children) and works towards the prevention of cross border trafficking of children.

1.   All Bengal Women's Union is celebrating its 75 years of inception
2.   A workshop is being organized at the headquarters for the Muslim women for their rights & legal status. This is specially meant for the women and girls of the surrounding areas. Renowned public prosecutor "Mr. Taj Mohammed" will preside over the workshop.
3.   The NGO has helped a Bangladeshi girl to get repatriated to her homeland with the help of NGOs from bangladesh.
4.   The children at the NGO are performing a dance drama on Rabindranath Tagore's songs called Dhanu Singher Dadabali based on Vaishnav Sangeet. They would be performing on 31st August, 2007 at Kala Mandir, Kolkata. Interested persons may contact office.
